Re: PRT - Feasibility and Awareness

Yeah, but maglev trains and light rail serve two completely different purposes. You wouldn't invest in a high speed train for regional commuter rail. That said, a high speed rail line from Charlotte to Raleigh to Washington DC (and then maybe to New York) is in the works for the near future.

Re: PRT - Feasibility and Awareness

Since you probably have no idea where this thread came from, a brief background: I'm very interested in urbanism, and specifically mass transit. I've been ...

Re: PRT - Feasibility and Awareness

Good studies. I actually went out and read these, and a number of others, just after our last conversation about this. I still don't understand how either of these studies shows that PRT could be a complete transit solution for the entire Triangle area. The main discussion in every study and convers...

Re: Save The Dipper!

Also, there's a little more info in this one http://www.aceonline.org/AceNewsNow/?article=76 Mr. Woosman has also offered the coaster to other groups, on a forum on the Sandusky Register newspaper where he wrote on July 1, 2008: "As the buyer …of this coaster, time for action is NOW. Re: Save The Dipper!

Sounds to me like Apex Movers tried to buy the coasters for cheap, then force ACE's hand by "donating" it to them, but with that condition forcing them to pay a removal price that probably makes enough profit for Apex to cover the $7,500 they paid for the rides and then some.

Maybe...

I think I'm gonna go by the Canes development camp at the RecZone from 4:45-5:45, so if I do come I won't be getting there until like 6:15-6:30.

Re: G3 Ghost Town event: ERT on Cliffhanger!

I didn't even know about that ACE one until you posted that (which is why I texted you and said you should have it the day after C3). WTF? That is pretty messed up. That was a great day to have it on, too.
