It's about time for another trip report, as it's been a while for me.
Saturday was the ACE event known as C3 (I know most of you know, but for those that don't).
Anyway, we had morning ERT on Ricochet and Carolina Cyclone (Hurler is down for rehab at the moment) and evening ERT on Thunder Road and Afterburn.
The weather was gorgeous and the crowds were very light for a Saturday.
On with the show...
The new sign looks nice at night (well really about 6:30 a.m.)
Our day started (after I got some cheaper gas in SC) at this little place on Westinghouse Blvd. The food is OK, but it's cheap!
Of course I had to pay my respects and take some pictures of the now departed Flying Super Saturator. Which has now been confirmed as gone for good, per the GM.
I liked the ride, although it was a slow loader.
I wonder what will become of it...
The trains are in storage on the backlot.
There was a huge crowd this year...31 to be exact.
Some may worship cobras, but not used boomerangs.
You mean I left a great used B&M for a used boomerang? What!?!
If you name all the colors this thing has been, you win a ride with Paul Reuben!
ERT on Ricochet, mostly trimless on the top...
Mark and his friend (who reminded me of Penny Marshall with those glasses) enjoyed their ride, I think.
The lines were huge until...
We were invaded by girl scouts!
The "authentic" Chinese food has gone back to being a corn dog place!
Hmmmm...what does that say?
Buwahahahaha!
Dirt. 3 pictures is enough to devote to a used boomerang going in...
OK, one more...
I think not.
The bumper cars building is being used as an arcade for Scarowinds. Maybe they can actually find some decent cars for it in the offseason.
Thunder Road was running as good as I can ever remember. Good job GCI!!!
Hmmm...on nevermind.
Thanks chicken for the used boomer.
Either JD is happy about Afterburn, or he really has to go.
It was a gorgeous day, and the park looked nice. Even though Carowinds has a pretty mediocre coaster collection, I still think it's a nice looking park.
Bill was there, and I think that's the GM in the glasses there.
Jonathan your friends were there too...
I normally don't pass up swings, but after riding this before and seeing how short the cycle is, I didn't even bother.
Still awesomefied.
I don't know if they meant to or not, but they left TG on the front of the building, which is a nice tribute to the original name. Still a great ride.
Thanks for reading.
