The Beach Party at the Threshold of Hell (Saturday - 4:45)

Post by Jonathan »

"The History of New America Part I: The Beach Party at the Threshold of Hell" is an independent film created by a group of people, some of whom are North Carolina (Raleigh specifically) natives. One of the filmmakers, Scott Clay, is the guy who is doing the Myrtle Beach documentary ("Becoming Attraction") who I helped out last fall at the Pavilion closing day.

Some of the cast and crew are in town this weekend for the film's North Carolina premiere at the Carolina Theater in Durham. I talked to Scott and some of the other cast and crew today at NC State, and saw a clip from the film. It looks like a pretty wild movie.

I know you guys have plans this weekend, but if they fall through, I am planning on going to the Saturday showing at 4:45. There will be a Q&A with the filmmakers afterward, and then an afterparty. They just finished editing a new cut of the film and it is coming in tonight, so the cut tomorrow night will actually be different than the one tonight.

Some familiar faces in the film in small parts are Jane Seymour, Daniel Baldwin, and Tony Hale (he played Buster on "Arrested Development").
