Tweetsie RailRoad---Ghost Train visit

Post by montumax »

What would the feelings be about a trip to Tweetsie RailRoad? Probably the time I would like to go would be when they do the Ghost Train. As long as I can work it out, I'd like to go.

I would definitely be interested in this if the timing was right.

What kind of "timing" are we talking about? October? Sounds interesting.

Do you know what their setup is then? Do they run all the flat rides too (I'd like to check out the 4 new ones if they are adult rides)?

Would be interested in going to this as long as it is not the Oct. 12-13 dates. I will be on my way from Orlando (HHN) to LA for Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Hollywood. Yea I am a sucker for Halloween Events.

Sounds like a trip that would be lots of fun. I'll move it up to Sticky status.

I just got off the phone with a lady from Tweetsie. I know she thought I was total wack because when I meant to saw Ghost Train, it came out Ghost Town! Anyway, you have to buy your tickets for a certain night, there are no group rates, its like Scarowinds-a seperate ticketed event, and the rides will be open, Wes. The tickets go on sale the 9th.

I'm tempted to say go on the first Saturday of Oct, the 6th.

(I don't know about another ACE Night at Scarowinds like we've done in the past.)

That would be fine with me as well.

Heck, if you guys wanted to we could make a whole day out of it and do Ghost Town too!

This sounds interesting. I have never been to Tweetsie so don't laugh since I know all you southerners probably went multiple times during elementary school.

Hehe... actually, I grew up in Waynesville, NC and I have never been to Tweetsie. I have been to Ghost Town numerous times though. :)

I've lived in NC all my life and I've never been to Tweetsie, Ghost Town, or Dollywood

So what's the consensus?

Is anyone interested in making a day of it and doing Ghost Town as well?

Ghost Town would be...I'm guessing, about 2.5 hours from Tweetsie.

Doesn't seem like it's that far though. From Charlotte to Tweetsie is about 2.5 and from Charlotte to GT is about the same.

Do we have time to do both effectively? Remember, I'm someone that doesn't like rushing.
