The first Martaan Film Festival - 02/16/2008

IT'S NOT MY FAULT THIS TIME!!!!

ATTENTION!!! - This event will be proceeded with a lunchtime trip to the new Wild Wing Cafe at Brier Creek.

Lets plan to head out to Wild Wings at about noon. That should put us there around 12:45.

The very first Martaan Film Festival has been postponed once again! At each event we will be viewing one (1) film of their choice from each of two (2) members. The following guidelines apply:

1 - It may be any film you like (feature film, documentary, music video, professional or amateur, etc.)

2 - Please prepare a brief introduction for the film (when, who & why you chose the film you did)

The viewing will begin at 6pm with the second film following 30 minutes after with a discussion of the film just shown, break for natural functions, etc.

The first two members chosen for this MFF1 (ahhh... you like that don't you...) will be John Bedtelyon and Jonathan Hawkins (yes folks, he's back in town so hide your sheep!).

I have some ideas in mind, but I have to decide which way I want to lean. I've got the fun good time movies, the classics, the great movies that you've probably never seen, and then the diabolical 2 hours of discomfort and torture.

Well, the idea is to share something that you feel everyone should see, even if it has been seen before. You will have to choose wisely Grasshopper. GGW is an inspired choice I must say.

edit I had to remind Alan he has a previous engagement on 1-26. We'll need to do this another weekend. If anyone still wants to get together sat night and watch girls gone wild though i'm game.

But hey, they're building one next to my office building downtown.

The project is called The EpiCentre and it will have retail, Dale Jrs Club, Wild Wing Cafe, a movie theater and a bowling alley. All in downtown.
