Jay wanted to go ride Griffon. Since I have a silver pass with free parking and a discount and an apartment 3 hours away, I'm the sort of gentlemen you would like to have along on such an expedition. As you can see, we stopped by Burger King and I got a crown because I finished a whole cup of coffee (!!!).
We got to the park before 10 and went straight to Griffon where the masses were already gathering. This was to be a crowded day, as from the top of some of the rides you could see the exit from I-64 backed up all morning and part of the afternoon, and when we left we saw that they were even using the parking lot across the highway.
We got our one ride on Griffon in the front seat and when we got off the temporary queue was already almost full. I still think it's a really fun ride.

Jay and weird knight on stilts guy.
Yep, I loved Alpengeist again. I used to think this ride was pathetic, but the last two times I have been there the trims on the first drop have been turned off and the mid-course has been light, making for a fantastic ride. Jay still does not approve.
Fun to be had here.
This view looks really weird now.
Over at Apollo's Chariot, the crowds still were not too terrible yet, so we got a ride in on what is easily still my favorite ride in the park.
As it turns out, you can barely spin these tea cups. "DO NOT WANT."
For some reason they painted the sign for Escape from Pompeii, which makes no sense because it doesn't match the rest of the ruins.
I'm not sure why someone is doing the Nazi salute to the boat. I decided to ride because there was no line. The reason for this is because it was cloudy and in the 70's temperature-wise. Bad idea perhaps.
Not a bad idea at all. I did not get a single drop of water on me. The water level had been lowered a good foot or so for some reason. Perhaps they do that when the temperature is going to be low?
I don't think I have ever had to wait in line for Loch Ness Monster.
Uh oh.
Another new view.
In a rare occurrence I actually did this picture right.
Whoa what is going on here?
I had never been on the Rhine River Cruise, so we did it.
You get nice views of Big Bad Wolf...
and Apollo's Chariot.
There they go.
Speaking of Big Bad Wolf; line out the entrance?!? DO NOT WANT.
We waited anyway. The line wasn't too bad with 3 trains on, although they were constantly stacking all 3.
Would like to go in sewer plz
Sorry not going to wait in this.
We will ride the train because there is no wait.
On the way out I found a Kumba snow globe. We rode all of the coasters once, and Apollo's Chariot twice, plus got DarKastle and Corkscrew Hill, so it wasn't a bad day at all. The weather certainly helped. Since we were out of the park by 5:00, Jay had a little credit whoring in mind.
Sounds like a blast...
O RLY?
They had a Disko.
Jay is more excited about this than Griffon.
The irony about this coaster is that it used to be about 15 minutes from where I live near Charlotte, but no adults could ride it because they would hit their head on the ceiling in the mall where it was located.
GOT YO a$$ JAMES. Do you have this credit? I did not think so.
They give 4 laps, and this ride is actually pretty violent. I would have rather had 1 lap for 1/4th the cost, but oh well.
We finished off the day at this place at William and Mary that Jay suggested.
It was tasty. Anyway, that's all for now.

They are... ummmm... there. AND, of course, it won't rain for six months now their up. I could wash my car but I'm afraid it will just cancel out and then only rain on my car.JamminJ wrote:How are your gutters?
I've been having fun imagining that we've installed a cool new flume ride for insects with the tunnel and spashdown at the end.
Speaking of which...
