The Aftermath

Saturday, February 18, 2006 we held our 2nd anniversary party for whootah.com. Attending was Alan, April, Andrew, Barbara, Emily, Jessica, John, Jonathan, Lisa, Mike, Nicole, Phil, Steve, and Sue! We stuffed our faces with pizza and snacks, viewed some pictures taken over the years, and began watching our videos.

We started watching the videos around 8:00 pm. Unfortunately the very first video we sat down to watch did not have any sound. It was a brand new video produced by Alan for an introduction to the party. The sound will be fixed and the video will be uploaded to the site in the next few days. Then we proceeded to watch all our previous videos, with a few other random ones found on the internets thrown in to break up the monotony. When we were done, Jonathan also brought 4 videos, 1 of which was brand new, he started working on it at 2:00 am that same morning!! In all, 6 videos had their world premier at the party, not including the first one that didn’t work, since it’s still only been seen by Alan.

After the videos were over, at about 1:30 am!!, we broke out the on the fly whootah.com trivia game where lucky winners took home valuable prizes. Questions included Where did the teal Whootah.com color come from, Who is the only whootah.com member to have an entire event specifically for them, How many Carolina Coaster Classic videos have we done, How many total videos have we done, and more that I don’t remember.

The final prize was for the person who traveled the furthest to be at the party. We had some contenders, Steve and April came from just north of the NC/VA line just over and hour away, Mike and Sue came from Kannapolis, NC, about 3 hours away, Jessica and Emily came from Baltimore, MD, and we were expecting Chris and his girl to come from Spartanburg, SC. However, Chris and company were not able to make the party due to inclement weather, leaving Jessica and Emily for the win! We completely understand Chris and his significant other not driving all the way from South Carolina due to the weather. The thought is all that matters!

At 2:00 am we had worn ourselves out and everyone went home that already wasn’t home. Wished those traveling good luck on their journeys, and said see you next time to the others. Special thanks to Lisa for decorating before the party, Alan and Barb for the pizza, cake and prizes, Phil (me) for prizes, drinks and snacks, and Nicole for cleaning up the next morning before I realized she had done so.

See you next year, same time, maybe same place, we may have to rent out a convention center next time! In the meantime, brand new videos that were premiered at the party have now been published on the site, download them and laugh out loud, show your friends, and join us in the forums for more action to come!
