G3 Ghost Town event: ERT on Cliffhanger!

Hey guys...sorry, don't mean to spam, but some of you came out last year and I wanted to tell you about it for this year! ANYWAY, we are having our 2nd annual Ghost Town event on July 12th called G3: GAP Ghost Town Gathering. The event is open to anyone that wants to attend. This year, we get ERT on Cliffhanger! Ghost Town is super nice to put up with us and allow us to have this event, so if any of you guys want to come, please do.

The schedule is as follows:
8:30am - 9:00am : Registration
9:00am - 10:00am : ERT on Cliffhanger and early entry to the park.
10:00am: As park opens to public, we get to get first ERT rides on Geronimo Drop!

We usually also trek over to Santa's Land for those who want to join, and also hit the casino the night before. The Comfort Inn in Maggie Valley is the hotel of choice! Oh yeah, the Care Bears will be here this day!!!

Last year the park gave everyone cool press kits and also donated two side panels of the old Red Devil trains for use to give away during Q&A, so this year they are giving us other cool stuff also. This event also includes food vouchers that you can use anywhere in the park. The cost is only $28.94 ($6.94 if you have a season pass). I really really want to come, but it's wait and see for me. I've got my new job, will be moving in July, and gas is just getting ridiculous. I definitely won't be doing it if I'm the only one from around here going; it would just be too much gas.

It did of course kick a$$ last year.

Jonathan,not sure if you are still in Raleigh or where but if you are in the Charlotte area then maybe we can drive together.

And share the $5.00 a gallon gas bill.

To cut expenses though, i would just drive up the day of the event more than likely and come back the same day like last year. I have a spare bed, for what it's worth, if you needed to stay the day before/after. And that goes for anyone else. My guest bed is always open.

I'm going to have to pass this year. Unfortunatley with gas and other prices what they are, I just cant' afford another trip.

Great thing living 30 minutes away is that it is a short drive there and back.

I spoke with Ghost Town today and they are 99% sure that Cliffhanger WILL NOT be ready by July 12th for G3, so I decided to postpone the event until AFTER the coaster is open. They offered us ERT on the other rides etc, but I want to wait...plus this way maybe more of you will be able to go later on.

I am hoping for September maybe or later August? We will see. If you paid already, I will give you a refund. If I just got your checks, I will shred them.

Be on the lookout for the rescheduled date. It will be on a SATURDAY again.

I guess we can't do it the same day as ACE is doing theirs.

I'd be ok with a fall date as well, maybe early October late September. Then we can see the leaves and such. You know, keep with the rainbow theming.

Well, the planned ACE day is on a Sunday and I am going to plan mine on a Saturday...since they STOLE my day from last year. No big deal.

I didn't even know about that ACE one until you posted that (which is why I texted you and said you should have it the day after C3). WTF? That is pretty messed up. That was a great day to have it on, too.

I know right...oh well. I've got the hook up at GTITS anyway, so I ain't worr'd bout it. Our event is better anyway cause they let us take our cameras on the rides and shizz, and you know ACE is not even going there. Plus they are giving us more cool coaster stuff to give away like they did with the Red Devil door panels last year.

Yeah, I loved the event last year. Hopefully I can make it for G3 2.0

Um yeah, this event was cancelled until they get they G D coaster opened. Along with the ACE event deuce...
